Tell me a story

My dad is Turkish which is why as a kid that was born and raised in Belgium, going to Turkey for vacation and sightseeing all the amazing buildings, Mosques, and so on... Has always amazed me.

Blue mosque (Sultanahmet camii)

The blue mosque was the first place ever that amazed me by the oriental patterns and interior, after our visit to the mosque I have been aware of my environment and the patterns being used in almost everything such as rugs, lights, ceramics...

Topkapi palace

The patterns and designs are from a long time ago since the ottoman empire. Topkapi Palace is now a large museum in Istanbul in Turkey. In the 15th and 16th centuries, it served as the main residence and administrative headquarters of the Ottoman sultans. That is one of the many reasons why the history of Turkey and the Turkish culture has inspired me with using the oriental theme.

Because of the wide range of cultural history and oriental interior design, I have a lot of options to be inspired by and to use in my project. I am wishing to combine all the elements and create a great oriental-themed project inspired by the Turkish oriental culture.
